Yesterday we learned that Lindsay Lohan successfully won the role of Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming made-for-TV biopic Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story (tho, some are reporting the film is titled Liz & Dick). Today we are hearing from sources close to Lindsay that she is seriously serious about the role. Apparently Lindsay plans to live and breathe Elizabeth Taylor leading up to the start of filming … but will it be enough for her deliver an excellent performance in the film?
Lindsay Lohan ain’t no slacker — TMZ has learned, the actress is studying up hardcore for her new movie role … doing everything she can to accurately portray a young Elizabeth Taylor. In case you haven’t heard — Lindsay just inked a deal with Lifetime to play Liz Taylor in the network’s new made-for-TV biopic called “Liz and Dick.” Production is scheduled to kick off late March, after Lindsay’s probation is terminated. Lindsay is telling friends, she’s taking her new gig extremely seriously — “obsessing over getting the part right” for the film. According to sources, Lindsay is doing nothing but watching old Liz Taylor movies to help her recreate the Hollywood icon’s posture, speech, and every other little detail. We’re told Lindsay has also been watching old Liz interviews online and reading a bunch of Liz biographies. Lifetime is taking a hard stance with Lindsay too — demanding she complete ALL her probation requirements before filming begins … which Lindsay has promised to do.
While I applaud Lindsay‘s attempt at doing Elizabeth Taylor justice, I think it’s gonna take a lot more than just watching movies and interviews to deliver the performance she needs to honor the late Liz Taylor. But, once upon a time, Lindsay was a pretty decent actress … I want to believe that she has it in her to give a great performance. We’ll have to see tho. I’m not holding my breath but would it be great if L. Lo shocked us all with a fantastic performance? HMMM. We shall see, we shall see. What do y’all think? Does Lindsay still have the acting chops to do the life of Elizabeth Taylor justice?
